There is only one restaurant in Ogami Island called “Opuyu Shokudo (Opuyu Restaurant),” which also serves as an only hotel in the island. It is located near the port.
Opuyu Shokudo has several food menu, including Miyako soba noodle, curry and rice, frankfurter, and their specialty “Kaki Tako Don.”
Kaki Tako Don is a rice bowl topped with grilled smoked octopus (specialty of Ogami Island) and sliced onions, and you can eat Kaki Tako Don only in this restaurant. The price is 800 yen and it comes with side dishes such as salad, “asa jiru (asa seaweed soup),” and “mozuku su (mozuku seaweed with vinegar).” They are all fresh and tasty. They also serve alcoholic and soft drinks.
You can rent a snorkeling set at the restaurant, and they also sell some souvenirs such as shells collected in the island.
The hotel room is located next to the restaurant (I think they only have two rooms). The accommodation fee is 4,000 yen per night (including breakfast). Dinner is not included, but you can have a dinner at the restaurant. The building in which the restaurant and the hotel is housed is quite new, so the room is clean and tidy (although it is quite small and you may find ants on the tatami floor especially in the morning). The room is equipped with an air conditioner, outlet, bath towel, tissue, dryer, etc.
A shower room and a toilet are placed next to the building. I didn’t use the shower room while staying in Ogami Island for a night as I took a shower before leaving Miyako Island and it was pretty scary to use the shower room during a night in Ogami Island, but I think they had a shampoo and conditioner (maybe soap too).
You can make a booking for accommodation by phone (I don’t know if they can speak English or not). Their contact information is listed in O-gamijima Website (in Japanese).
