“Bokkuri Waistcoat” is located on Shimozato Street, closed to “JailBird” which I introduced before. The owls on the wall are the icons of this dining bar. This is one of the bars I often visit when I stay in Miyako Island.
They have tables as well as counter seats. I visited this bar for several times while staying in Miyako Island on November this year, but the bar was often crowded with customers. Maybe it’s because of the increase of the number of tourists in Miyako Island.
Bokkuri Waistcoat Counter
They serve a variety of drinks at Bokkuri Waistcoat, including local beers from Miyakojima Micro Brewery (although they are local beers, it is rare to find them at bars in Miyako Island). Miyakojima Micro Brewery produces beers using the water of Miyako Island, and the taste of the beers is nice and refreshing. Miyakojima Micro Brewery is a relatively new brewery managed by a person migrated from naichi (the main islands of Japan), and their beers are still not so common in Miyako Island.
Toriba Coral Weizen (A Local Beer from Miyako Island)
Bokkuri Waistcoat has a skilled chef who prepares elaborate meals. They serve the best pasta among the dining bars in Miyako Island I have visited so far, so my main purpose of visiting this bar is to eat pasta cooked by the skilled chef. If you tell the chef your favorite pasta, he will make an original pasta for you.
Fresh Pasta with Mushroom Cream Sauce
This bar seems to be one of the most popular bars for tourists as well as for local people, and it is crowded compared to other bars in Miyako Island. When there are many customers, it will be sometimes difficult to relax and enjoy drinking at a slow pace especially if you are alone. So when I visit this bar, I usually eat pasta and enjoy a couple of drinks, and then head to the next bar.
